The PVC Pump/Vacuum Check unit integrates a vacuum check and a Chip vacuum pump in a compact body with several auxiliary ports for installing system accessories such as RC18-040 Release Check, a vacuum switch, or a volume chamber. Depending on system requirements, a vacuum switch can be installed either before or after the internal vacuum check valve, but the RC18-040 or a volume chamber must be installed after the internal vacuum check valve in common with the suction cup.
Pump performance capacity can be tailored to the system requirements by specifying any of our Chip Pump nozzles; C6M, C4M, C5L, or C6E.
A PVC unit should be used in systems where nonporous, high-value, parts are being handled so the part will not be immediately dropped if air pressure, and thus the vacuum source, is lost. Ideally, one PVC Pump/ Vacuum Check unit is used per suction cup to maintain independent operation of each suction cup. Depending on the condition of all vacuum system components, the trapped vacuum will eventually leak down. To increase the time delay interval, a volume chamber can be added to an auxiliary port on the suction cup side of the internal vacuum check valve. If the volume chamber is equal to twice the cup internal volume, the time delay interval will be approximately tripled, and so forth.
