Vacuum Tooling Components Contact Us

Flexible manufacturing production lines require fast EOAT exchanges to minimize down-time whenever the product is changed to a different one.  Robotic Tool Changers automatically connect compressed air and vacuum lines so an end-of-arm tool can be exchanged, allowing the robot to be put back in service in only a few minutes.

At EDCO USA, we design, manufacture, and test our vacuum components which allows us to provide knowledgeable product information and customer support.  EDCO USA provides high-quality End of Arm Tooling components and Quick Changers at reasonable prices that are readily available because they are made in the USA.

Contact us for application questions including vacuum pump selection or to discuss your project’s specific requirements.  We will work hard to make EDCO your go-to resource for vacuum tooling components.

End of Arm Tooling

EDCO Modular Automation Tooling (EMAT) and Micro-tooling components are combined with aluminum tubing in an erector-set fashion to build light-weight structural frames for mounting vacuum cups, gripper fingers, sprue nippers, grippers, sensors and other components into an EOAT or vacuum holding fixture.

Modular construction allows EOAT frames to be quickly assembled or reconfigured without any welding – simply move clamp blocks, add arms & wrists, or readjust arms & wrists to a new position to conform to a different work object.

EDCO USA manufactures and stocks innovative components for building rugged tools and vacuum fixtures whether they are robotic or manually controlled.  A wide range of products allows for convenient tailoring of the selection to suit the application.

EOAT Components

EDCO USA’s EOAT components allow building end-of-arm tools using lightweight, round aluminum tubing structures. EOAT micro-tooling clamps are used for 1/2 in, 3/4 in, and 1 in outer diameter tubing.

Modular Automation Tooling - EMAT

Modular automation tooling (EMAT), from EDCO USA provides an efficient way to construct automation or robotic tools with minimal design time. Rugged, lightweight anodized aluminum EMAT components adjust easily to conform to the workpiece then are securely tightened with standard hand tools. EMAT design benefits include:
  • Simplicity
  • Adjustability
  • Rigidity
  • Serviceability
  • Energy Conservation
  • Coaxial Ejector Technology
  • Cost Effective
EDCO’s heavy-duty EMAT clamps are used with 1” or 1-1/2” outside diameter tubing.  Conventional clamp arms are installed by sliding them over the end of a tube but EDCO also offers hinged clamp arms that can be added to an EOAT at any location without disturbing the other arms or disassembly of the tool.

Robotic Tool Changers

EDCO robotic tool changers provide a low-cost method of automating vacuum tool change-over to minimize lost production time.

Robotic Quick Change System

Quick Change Slides deliver a cost-effective method to increase productivity by virtually eliminating end-of-arm tool change-over time. With QCS, a robot can be re-tooled for a different part and back in service within a few minutes. The quick change system consists of a Robot Clamp Base (one per robot), Tool Plates (one per tool), and a Tool Park for storing tools not currently being used.  The possibility of mis-connected air and vacuum lines is eliminated since they are automatically connected when the new tool is inserted into the robot base.  Rugged dovetail design locates the tool accurately and securely.

Robotic Quick Changer

EDCO QC-series Quick Change tool mounts provide a low-cost readily available replacement for competitive brands so that the robot-side base does not need to be replaced.  Frequently used for injection molding machines, the retention knob design can handle tools weighing up to 25 lbs. for the 90 mm unit and 66 lbs. for the 150mm QC tool mount.

Robotic Quick Change with Vacuum Pump

Designed for Delta-style robots, The pump body attaches to the robot platform and contains two rare earth magnets that hold a steel tool plate against fixed stops to handle tool loads up to 5 lbs. Magnetic coupling allows vacuum tools to be changed in seconds.
